Horological automata is pre-programmed movement using mechanical power. It was invented by Jaquet Droz in the 1750s. Today, Swiss brands like Louis Vuitton, Jacob & Co., as well as the inventor’s namesake, Jaquet Droz, make automata watches that can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.
CT3D takes inspiration from these iconic brands but uses clever design and additive manufacturing to bring these time pieces to a mainstream audience.

Revision 1, the initial concept of the mechanism.

Revision 3 added acrylic windows all around.
Revision 4, adding a curved acrylic top to reduce the height off the wrist. Removed some of the windows to reduce complexity.
Revision 5, adding laser engraving to the dial, a bearing to the thumb wheel, and introduced the detachable arch for assembly.
